How the Score Is Calculated

Total Marks = (Correct in Paper 1 × 2) + (Correct in Paper 2 × 2)

  • Correct: +2 marks
  • Wrong: 0 marks — UGC NET has no negative marking
  • Dropped question: full marks to everyone who attempted it

Paper 2 typically has 100 questions worth 200 marks, added to Paper 1’s 100 marks, for 300 total.

  • Reserved categories: 35% aggregate
  • JRF: higher, announced subject-wise with the final result

What UGC NET Disaster Management Covers

For candidates with a relevant postgraduate background, the paper typically spans disaster risk reduction frameworks, natural and man-made hazard types, disaster response and recovery planning, institutional and policy frameworks (such as India’s National Disaster Management Authority structure), and the link between climate change and disaster risk. As this is a comparatively newer subject, check the official syllabus PDF on ugcnet.nta.nic.in for the current, authoritative unit breakdown.
